Yoga Light Studio News

Hello yoga community & happy 2017 to all!  As we bid adieu to 2016 we thank the universe for the blessings, lessons and moments that the passing year has bestowed upon us, and we look forward to what 2017 has to offer.  For us at Yoga Light Studio, this month marks our first anniversary and many exciting things to share!

Daily Schedule Updates

With the growth of the studio and based on our students’ feedback, we continue to add new classes. The latest additions/class changes are:

– Ashtanga Mix (All Levels) with Lisa Novembre: Wednesday’s, 5:30-6:30pm
– Vinyasa Flow (Level 2) with Dave Ung:  Wednesday’s, 7-8pm
– Vinyasa Flow (Level 2-3/hot), with Dave Ung: Thursday’s, 7-8pm
– Vinyasa Flow (Level 1-2/Hot), with Dave Ung: Thursday’s, 8:30-9:30pm
– Vinyasa (Level 1-2), with Lisa Pisano: Friday’s, 6:30-7:30pm,
– Yin Yoga (all levels, reduced heat), with Ashleigh Irwin: Friday’s, 7-8pm

WORKSHOPS
Start the new year off right with one of the special workshops that we’ve scheduled for this month.
Guided Meditation & Intention Setting Workshop with Amanda: Sunday, January 8, 2017, 7-8:15pm

In this 75 minute guided meditation workshop, you will be led through an accessible and down-to-earth approach to a meditation practice. Set intentions for the New Year, and work on creating and manifesting your vision of life. Start with a relaxing 30 minute yin session to unravel the spine and soften the hips. Then, Amanda will take you through a guided meditation, teaching you skills that you can take home with you. This will all be done in a relaxing, candle-lit room.

Students must sign up in advance to attend.

Investment: $30.00+HST per person. 15% off for Yoga Light Members with an unlimited membership (not including New Student Special).

Yoga for Every Body with David Bruni: Tuesdays, January 17-February 7, 2017

Yoga is for every body. The physical practice of yoga helps to improve flexibility & strength, calm the mind, and improve overall health, but it’s not just for those who may already be strong or flexible. If you experience limited mobility, are recovering from an injury, have a specific physical issue, or have never practiced yoga before, this 4-part series of classes would be perfect for you! The classes will be slow-paced, and will be tailored to suit the individual needs of participants. Participants will be in experienced and well-trusted hands for these classes, which will be led by renowned yoga instructor David Bruni, who has practised yoga for over 35 years. David is also a shiatsu massage therapist, and has exceptional knowledge of the human body. He has taught and helped students of all levels, ages and abilities. This is your perfect opportunity to start yoga and see where it takes you!

Yoga for Men Workshop with David Bruni: Thursdays, January 12-February 16, 2017, 8-9pm

This 6-week course is designed to introduce male students to the physical practice of yoga in a slow, safe and comprehensive manner, and in a manner designed specifically for the male body. A smaller class size allows for more individual attention, detailed instructions (including modifications for all needs and abilities), hands-on adjustments, and questions.

At the end of this workshop students will be prepared to transition into our regularly scheduled classes, and will be equipped with the knowledge of how to modify postures for their specific body types, within a regular class setting. First-timers welcome.

Investment: $110.00+HST, for 6 weeks or $100.00+HST for 5 weeks per person. 15% off for returning participants, and Yoga Light Studio members with an unlimited monthly package (excluding new student special). Due to limited availability, please pre-register to guarantee your spot.

Intro to Yoga with David Bruni: Saturday, January, 28, 2-4pm

This is a 1 day 2-hour intensive workshop.  It is designed to introduce new students to the physical practice of yoga in a slow, safe and comprehensive manner. A smaller class size allows for more individual attention, detailed instructions (including modifications for all needs and abilities), hands-on adjustments, and questions.

Intro to Yoga is great for those with little or no experience, as well as continuing students interested in reviewing the basics and reconnecting to the fundamentals of the practice!

Investment: $40 + HST. Due to limited availability, please pre-register to guarantee your spot.

Restorative Yoga Workshop with Christina Frondella: Sunday, January 29, 7-8:30pm

Restorative yoga works to bring neutrality to the body. Each pose is fully supported by props (such as bolsters, blocks, blankets etc.) and held for longer periods of time, allowing the body to release tension and stress. Leave this workshop feeling relaxed and renewed. Space fills up quickly and is limited, so be sure to register in advance at the studio or online.

Yoga Light’s 1 Year Anniversary Celebration!
